Summer Reading at South Charleston Public Library

Due to COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, the South Charleston Public Library (SCPL) team
is bringing readers of all ages the library’s first “online and more” summer programs. This year’s
theme is “Tails and Tales" and all activities are FREE. The library’s many books and online
resources are filled with stories and information to fuel everyone’s imagination.

Live online programs (with recordings available after) begin June 7 and include: Mystery
Mondays; Family Fun Fest; Teen Talk; Literacy and Learning; Field Trip Fridays; and Cozy Crafts.
Young readers will also receive books to keep, along with weekly craft/STEAM activity kits. A
complete list of events and activities is available at scplwv.org.

Thanks to the generous gifts of time, expertise, and money from community members, SCPL
again brings readers the one and only “Wall of Prizes.” This year’s prize lists have expanded, and
virtual tickets are earned by reading and attending programs.

Some of the over 150 prizes available include: bikes; gift cards to Aldi’s, Kroger, Lowe’s,
Speedway, Walmart, Target, and more; an Amazon Echo, games and books; Lego sets; COSI
tickets; Studio Creator Kits; STEM builder sets; and much, MUCH more!

Registration continues through July 23 at the library or online scplwv.org/summer. Join
Storytime and Sign Up Zoom programs at 5:30 pm May 18, May 25, and June 1 for a few stories
and songs along with registration assistance.
